Privacy Policy

This is a plain reading site. It collects very little, sells nothing, and this page is meant to be short enough to actually read.

What is collected

• Server logs. Our host records standard request data — IP address, the page requested, the time, browser and operating system strings, and the referring page. This is ordinary web-server behaviour and is used for security and for a rough sense of which chapters get read.
• Email you send us. If you write to us, we hold your message and address for as long as the correspondence is useful.

We do not ask for accounts, we do not run advertising, and there is no booking or payment system on this site, so no payment details ever reach us.

Cookies and fonts

We set no tracking or advertising cookies of our own. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to a Google server and that server can see your IP address; blocking third-party requests in your browser will stop this at the cost of the page falling back to a system typeface.

What is never done

Your data is not sold, rented, traded or shared with advertisers or data brokers. We do not build profiles of readers and we do not combine our logs with any outside dataset.

Retention and your choices

Server logs are kept for a short operating period and then discarded. You can ask us what correspondence we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to editor@arvenstone.com. There is no mailing list to leave; if you would rather leave no server-log trace at all, the simplest option is not to visit.
